Raised in Yamanashi, Japan, also known as the "Japanese Southern Alps", Misaki grew up with a 360-degree mountain-view that included Mt. Fuji (and in fact, had climbed to the top of Fuji twice!). This is where her interest in being immersed in nature began, which quickly developed into a love of photography and exploration.
Saito believes that photography is a third eye that opens the world intellectually, artistically, and in the most intimate ways. Through photography, you can resonate with nature, surroundings, geology, geography, culture, history, and with humanity itself. The viewfinder of the camera is her connection to the world, and a timeless capture that holds a miraculous moment for all posterity.
Initially specializing in landscape photography, her portfolio expanded to include abstract works, minimalism, and portraiture, through which she intends to explore beauty, authenticity, and storytelling.
Saito is an award-winning photographer and a certified contributor for Getty Images since 2015. Her photos were chosen for the TABIPPO Summer Landscape Postcards, which were sold all throughout Japan via Tokyu Hands, LOFT, and Village Vanguard. Her published photos can be found through platforms such as 1x, Adobe Stock, 500px, and many others.
